Level 3 English for Academic Purposes

Subject Description

Teacher in Charge:

English for Academic Purposes is an academic cross-curricular course which builds students' academic literacy skills for study at Level 3 and at tertiary level.

The skills developed include academic essay writing, oral presentation skills, and critical reading analysis.

This course does not act as a pathway for University Entrance but instead gives students the key skills necessary to thrive in the real world.

EAP is an optional subject at Year 13, but is highly recommended for those students not doing 13 English.

This course assesses students at either Level 3 or Level 4. All students have access to 17 credits and will work towards the same skills. Whether students are assessed against the Level 3 or Level 4 standard depends on their individualised learning plan.
