Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Coulthard.

Mass media is all around the globe and more influential in our everyday lives than we realise or want to admit.

Drastic advances in media communication and technology have completely altered our world in the last 30 years. Media Studies at Level 1, begins by considering individuals interaction with media before focusing on television advertising. Studying advertisements to learn their appeal, purpose and conventions, before utilising this knowledge to design, plan and create our own.

The grand finale, looking at the way media deals with current issues.
