Year 9 Physical Education at John Paul II High School exposes students to a range of activities, some of which are accompanied by a theoretical component. Curriculum coverage is divided through the four terms as follows;
Term One focuses on an intensive Athletics study using the Adidas Five Star Award Scheme and then goes on to include such topics as Fitness Studies, badminton, basketball and hockey.
Term Two investigates participation in touch-rugby, netball and soccer. Students also try their hand at gymnastics and fitness testing.
Term Three looks at participation in team sports and the development of knowledge in first aid, safe lifting and other health related topics.
Term Four concludes the year with programmes in softball, aquatics and volleyball and skills required for working effectively.
