NASA describe Science as "observing the world by watching, listening, observing, and recording. Science is curiosity in thoughtful action about the world and how it behaves."

Through investigation, understanding and explaining what we see, feel, hear we can fully comprehend the how and why's of the world and the greater universe. By building on the knowledge of past scientists and incorporating ideas of Mātauranga Māori, students will learn the skills to develop their own scientific theories, ideas and the ability to better understand the world around them.

Science is compulsory at Years 9 and 10. At Year 11, Science is recommended, and is required if you plan on taking Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics in year 12 and 13.
